Dominican regularly receives ‘A’ grades for hospital safety from Leapfrog Group and has received national recognition for superior patient safety cardiac care and stroke treatment from Healthgrades a leading provider of comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals.As Santa Cruz County’s heart attack (STEMI) receiving center Dominican Hospital provides cutting edge cardiac care. The hospital’s heart attack treatment times consistently beat the national average and the hospital offers two cardiac catheterization labs available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Groundbreaking cardiac procedures at Dominican include the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure which allows for heart valve replacement without opening a patient’s chest.Dominican Hospital has forged significant partnerships with area hospitals to bring exceptional care to Santa Cruz County. The hospital offers a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) through a partnership with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. Neurosurgery at Dominican is also offered through a partnership with Stanford Health Care.

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

  • Under direction of the Materials Management Manager/Supervisor, receives and distributes hospital equipment, supplies and mail.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies for shipping, as needed.
  • Performs daily counts of par-level locations via hand-held technology, approved supply storage system or materials management information system.
  • Performs data entry of stock items issued from inventory.
  • Maintains hospital inventory and materials management work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Participates in inventory/cycle counting process per department procedure.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Three to six months of inventory management experience. 
  • Meets minimum competencies of Materials Management Tech I. 
  • Forklift operation certification and/or experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • Current and valid CA state driver license for courier pick up and deliveries. 
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Outlook and basic computer operations. 
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in written form in English.
  • Good numerical skills a must.
  • Sound customer service techniques and practices, ability to communicate in a professional and articulate manner with internal and external partners at all levels both verbal and written, remain calm and courteous while handling problems, comfortable as a team member and informational leader,
  • knowledge of Materials Management. 
  • Understanding of large ERP systems.

PREFERRED:

  • Six to twelve months related work experience in a hospital stockroom or warehouse preferred.
