Responsibilities
The Ortho Technician works under the supervision of the Physician Assistant and/or Manager of Perioperative Services in providing quality care for patients within the Medical Center. The Ortho Technician assists the physicians and hospital personnel to meet the needs of the orthopedic patient population. The Ortho Technician maintains and may orders supplies within the department. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Community Hospital of San Bernardino. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support Community Hospital of San Bernardino's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities.
Qualifications
- Ortho Tech certification or two years experience as Ortho Tech
- Experience with sterile technique
- Completion of Ortho Tech course or 2 years experience as Ortho Tech
- BLS
- Ability to cast and place patients in traction; Ability to assist in surgery in the scrub assistant role
