Responsibilities
The PACU nurse is responsible for observing patients for side effects of anesthesia. Monitoring and recording patient vital signs. Monitoring patient's level of consciousness throughout sedation recovery. Performing post-operative tasks such as administering medication or changing dressings.

Qualifications
Minimum:
- Minimum 1 year acute care PACU or Critical Care (ICU/ED) experience or (1 year Telemetry experience if staffing allows for training) in an acute care setting
- Current California RN license
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- PALS certification
- Computer skills
- Ability to read speak and write English.
- Knowledge of current use/adverse effects of unit specific titrating medications
- Accurate assessment of post-operative complications with demonstrated understanding of appropriate interventions
Preferred:
- 2 years critical care experience or recovery room experience
- PACU certification
