Responsibilities
Under general supervision, the Staffing Coordinator regularly performs a variety of complex duties, as outlined below, involving review and processing of complex staffing information. The staffing position regularly requires the interpretation and application of specialized technical,programs and specific
staffing information, while exercising a high degree of independence, initiative and originality with little day to day supervision. This position may also perform clerical duties, data entry, special projects, training and assisting less experienced staff in the performance of the departments’ work. The Staffing Coordinator(s) promotes the philosophy, goals and objectives of Common Spirit Health.
- Maintains, generates and analyzes staffing data including attendance and scheduling reports, admissions, discharges,
and staffing ratios to complete standardized staffing process on a shift to shift basis. - Utilizes organizational resources to implement HC’s, float rotations, staff assignments and changes when indicated and
have a working knowledge of all applicable CBA language. - Accurately update database and record keeping processes with employee time, assignment and attendance records.
- Maintains all data requested by management or data necessary to complete standardized staffing process.
- Effectively communicate to all facilities regarding changes to planned staffing – sick calls, reallocation of staff from unit to
unit or hospital. - Complete and demonstrable understanding of standardized staffing process and its application at multiple locations.
- Accurately and effectively, gather, analyze, communicate and implement staffing plan with little supervision.
- Maintain appropriate supplies, equipment and resource materials for the unit.
- Support Manager/Director with projects, procedures, and forms development to improve departmental efficiency.
- Follow all guidelines and procedures related to utilization and tracking of contract labor. Understand applicable rules and
guidelines related to use of contract labor and effectively record all required documentation. - Competent utilization, analysis and application of staffing databases and tools.
- Demonstrates proficiency in use of new and increasingly complex applications to improve efficiencies in the performance
of the staffing functions. - Understands the financial implications of maintaining appropriate staffing levels and collaborates with leadership to meet
financial goals.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Knowledge of clinical hospital staffing, hospital organization operations and functions.
- Experience with computers, word processing and database applications.
Education:
- AA degree in a related field required or 3 to 5 years directly relatable experience.
