Responsibilities
In keeping with the Dignity Health core values the Surgical Tech Specialist is to function as a team member during the preoperative intra-operative and postoperative phases of the surgical procedure.

Qualifications
- A minimum of two (2) years recent hospital experience in the capacity of a Surgical Technologist in all surgical specialties.
- Demonstrates advanced skills appropriate to the role of the Surgical Technologist.
- Demonstrates proficiency in ability to scrub ophthalmology procedures and total joint procedures OR proficiency in ability to scrub Cardiac procedures.
- Demonstrates ability to serve as a preceptor and role model for new Surgical Technologist staff and Surgical Technologist students during their clinical rotations.
- Demonstrates ability to work within a decentralized model of patient care delivery.
- Demonstrates a caring compassionate attitude toward others.
- Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently.
- Demonstrates ability to work in a stressful environment while remaining calm efficient and focused.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly concisely and accurately both in oral and written English skills.
- Demonstrates ability and willingness to actively participate in continuing education programs unit based task forces and committees.
- Seeks opportunities for improving job knowledge and skills.
- Demonstrates ability to assume on call status as determined by department manager and according to Department needs.
