Responsibilities
The incumbent prioritizes and coordinates the activities for the Trauma Registry in order to meet schedules and deadlines, and maintains current and accurate procedures and practices. Performs a variety of data collection activities from direct chart abstraction and enters into a comprehensive
computerized data management system. Incumbent acts as a liaison/facilitator with the Trauma Program Manager, Medical Director and QI Coordinator to provide reports on a scheduled and ad hoc basis. Collects Trauma data for injury research and prevention, as well as quality improvement
tracking. Assures accuracy and confidentiality in the handling of all Trauma Registry related matters and is concerned with and active in the improvement of Trauma Program within the facility.

Qualifications
Experience:
- Experience with abstracting, entering, analyzing and maintaining Trauma Registry database in compliance with state regulations and certification requirements. Experience using trauma scaling and scoring tools. Abstracting data from electronic medical ecords.
- 2 years (Exception: Applicants without the requisite experience may be considered when management is able to support a trainee).
- Recent experience in Trauma Center Certified Specialist Trauma Registries (CSTR) preferred.
Education:
- Medical terminology
Licensure:
- Certified Specialist Trauma Registries (CSTR) preferred.
Special Skills:
- Intermediate level computer skills including understanding and knowlege of data entry, data abstraction and keyboarding. Knowleged of office
equipment and clerical skills. - Experience in Excel and Database Management.
Training:
Cerner training . medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and working knowledge of ICD 10 coding AIS Injury scoring and Health Information
Management.
