See yourself in our team
As a Senior Software Developer, you will be part of a small squad within the Mobile crew. You will be working with engineers on backend APIs for the Australia's #1 banking app - CommBank App. We offer regular opportunities to work on some of the finest IT systems in Australia, as well as opportunity to develop careers across different functions and teams within the wider Bank.

You'll be hands-on coding and be responsible for shaping the evolution of this system by designing and developing micro services, data access layers, REST API(s), and writing integration services for third-party API consumption, manage risk with safe deployments and automated testing, as well as learning more about back-end engineering. You'll also be invited to join our regular engineering guilds and provide technical guidance to the junior members of the team.

You’re passionate about building developing and deploying high quality software solutions

• Experience with the full software development lifecycle and delivery using Agile practices with specific focus on the following concepts: source control, CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure cloud pipelines, logging and monitoring.

• Ability to collaborate, present ideas, influence and challenge stakeholders.

• You’re actively involved in continuous learning, experimentation and innovation, ready to apply and promote industry best patterns and practices, driving high quality outcomes to solve core business objectives

• You’re constantly thinking outside the box and breaking boundaries to solve complex technical problems

Tech Skills
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team:

• Experience in developing 3-tier application both on-premises and on cloud covering:

• Frontend: React and Redux (Preferred) or Angular

• Backend: .Net Core (preferred), C# OR Java.

• Database: SQL and NoSQL experience (both admin and usage)

• Infrastructure as Code (Cloud – prefer AWS)

• Micro services design and implementation of highly scalable APIs

• Scripting/programming languages (i.e., JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, Python)

• CI/CD tools (i.e. GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus)

• Automated Quality Engineering and Testing (Unit Testing, Regression Testing)

• Solution and System Design- Application Security /Observability

• Code quality control through peer programming, code review and automated pipeline release management

• Mentoring and coaching other engineers
