What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Officer position at Commonwealth Business Bank?
POSITION OVERVIEW
- The incumbent will process accounts payable with a variety of other duties in general accounting.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for preparing & posting accounting entries provided including callback.
- Responsible for GL suspense correction daily.
- Monitor and deliver the FRB & PCBB balances daily.
- Update the FRB Excess Reserve and save documents daily.
- Set up prepaid accounts when incurred
- Prepare due from bank reconciliation
- Prepare daily journal entries, including EBA, CRA CD Int, and Tickets.
- Prepare monthly & quarterly BOD financial reports assigned, including Loan Roll forward, Branch Allocation, Director’s Dozen, Peer Comparison, Regulation F, CFP Stress Test, and Capital Stress Test.
- Prepare annual property tax filing
- Prepare annual Summary of Deposits (“SOD”) report
- Prepare raw data for the quarterly ALM report run
- Provides direct accounting assistance to the Manager.
- Prepare and make journal entries for the monthly closing cycle, including purchasing accounting amortization, SBA LHFS, monthly operating lease amortization, monthly expenses accrual, and Debit Card Reward
- Complete the Loan TB and Deposit TB reconciliation to the GL after month-end
- Assists in other projects as needed.
- Complies fully with all Bank policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g. Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-money Laundering, Code of Conduct, etc.).
- Must complete all required training.

- Must be detail-oriented
- Strong PC skills, ability to work with large spreadsheets and analyze data
- Strong communication and customer service skills comfortably interact with vendors, customers, and employees at all levels of the organization
- Success in multitasking in a fast-paced environment and in task ownership
- Strong work ethic
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- 1 year of experience preferred

Annual pay ranges are determined based on qualifications, level, and location. Exact compensation may vary based on your skills and experience.
