Continuous Improvement Director
Job Summary : The Quality and Compliance Department seeks a highly motivated and experienced Continuous Improvement Director to join our team. This role involves coaching and collaborating with all levels of the organization to identify opportunities for department and enterprise-wide operational improvements, change management, and organization development. This team member will lead the implementation of such solutions to solve business challenges. The ideal candidate will ensure that process innovation activities improve compliance, quality, operating efficiencies, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities :
- Continuous Improvement Projects : Plan, develop, and lead projects to improve processes and facilitate enterprise-wide change. These activities would include but are not limited to :
Conducting department needs assessments
Creating standard operating procedure templatesMapping processesDeveloping a CCA continuous improvement tool kitBuilding Jira workflowsEstablishing and managing each project's scope, objectives, milestones, resources, and deadlinesAnalyzing operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.Stakeholder Collaboration : Foster collaboration by interacting with department heads and school leadership to secure buy-in on continuous improvement initiatives. This work may include designing and analyzing surveys to gather feedback from employees and customers.Performance Measurement : Gather outcome data on each continuous improvement project to assess the benefits, i.e., employee hours saved, money recouped, and customer satisfaction improved. If possible, create a performance dashboard that captures and tracks this data in one place.Post-Implementation Reviews : Conduct post-implementation reviews, including capturing lessons learned.Training and Facilitation : Provide training, facilitation, and expertise on continuous improvement fundamentals and other tools as appropriate.Feedback Mechanisms : Develop and implement feedback mechanisms for gathering input from all stakeholders involved in departmental and enterprise-wide projects.Ambassador Program : Develop a program to instruct and guide department volunteers in creating and maintaining a continuous improvement mindset. Facilitate opportunities for these ambassadors to implement and manage continuous improvement projects independently.Qualifications and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in business management, business administration, organization development, industrial engineering, or other equivalent experienceProven experience in continuous improvement, process innovation, or a related field.Capacity to lead projects and achieve goals through influence rather than direct authority.Cultivate strong working relationships, build consensus, and motivate team members to complete tasks by aligning with their interests and values.Strong leadership skills to guide and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Strong project management skills, including leading multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Proficiency in lean / continuous improvement methodologies.Ability to analyze complex problems and develop practical solutions.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Comfort with working in a high-growth environment that experiences almost constant change and frequent shifts in strategic alignment.Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics and familiarity with process improvement tools and software.Preferred Qualifications :
At least 5-7 years of experience in process improvement, operations, business management, or data analysis.Experience leading and executing process improvement projects.Certification in Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodologies a plus.Work Environment :
This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders. The Continuous Improvement Director will be expected to lead by example and drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
