Commonwealth Collaborative is an Intensive Outpatient and Day Treatment program in Great Barrington, MA. The Position:
The Primary Therapist provides the main point of contact for each participant at Commonwealth Collaborative. The Primary Therapist meets with the participants for individual and group therapy sessions and endeavors to foster long term behavioral change through compassion, empathy, and therapeutic alliance as well as helping to plan for aftercare. The Primary Therapist reports directly to the Clinical Director and attends regular scheduled supervision sessions.

- Partners with a multi-disciplinary team on assessments, client care planning and treatment goals
- Ensures safety of participants
- Fosters and creates positive relationships with team members, participants, families, visitors and the community
- Interacts with referents, providing customer service, compassion and expertise to each situation
Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet with assigned participants weekly for individual counseling regarding their progress in their treatment
- Conduct groups as assigned
- Completes all charting and notes within specified time frames
- Meet with clinical team weekly for clinical review of participants
- Develop the material/curriculum with depth and variety for the topic group assigned
- Exhibit the ability to motivate participants in their early recovery
- In conjunction with multi-disciplinary team, develop and implement aftercare plan with participants
- Occasionally provide crisis management.
- Occasionally provide in-house training to other clinical staff
- Regularly attend outside training and professional development
Requirements and Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or related field
- Licensed as an LCSW, LMHC
- 2 year’s professional experience as a registered psychotherapist
- Previous experience working with substance abuse
- Ability to run evening groups weekly
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $13,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week
