Job Description:
We are seeking a Certified Yoga Instructor to lead dynamic and engaging yoga classes at the University Club of Saint Paul. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching yoga, a strong knowledge of various styles and techniques, and the ability to cater classes to different levels of fitness and experience. As part of our wellness program, you will help our members develop strength, flexibility, mindfulness, and overall well-being through yoga practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Ø Lead group yoga classes for individuals of varying skill levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners.
Ø Develop and implement personalized yoga sessions based on member needs, goals, and preferences.
Ø Create a safe and inclusive environment where members feel supported and motivated.
Ø Provide individual modifications and adjustments to ensure safety and effectiveness for all participants.
Ø Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor at all times, fostering positive relationships with club members.
Ø Keep up to date with yoga trends, techniques, and best practices.
Ø Assist in creating and implementing wellness programs that enhance the club’s offerings and member experience.
Ø Collaborate with the wellness team to ensure a well-rounded and impactful fitness program.
Ø Maintain certifications and participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry standards.
Qualifications:
Ø Current certification in yoga (e.g., RYT 200 or higher).
Ø Experience teaching various types of yoga (e.g., Vinyasa, Hatha, Restorative, etc.).
Ø Knowledge of anatomy, alignment, and the ability to offer modifications to accommodate different levels.
Ø Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ø Ability to inspire and motivate members while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.
Ø Experience working with individuals or in a group setting is preferred.
Ø CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
