Our Loan Underwriters specialize in consumer lending risk analysis. They analyze information received from credit applications and credit reporting agencies to make prudent credit decisions. They adhere to all CCU practices, policies and procedures. This role requires the ability to be decisive in a fast-paced, highly motivated environment.
The duties and responsibilities of a Loan Underwriter I include, but are not limited to:
- Reviewing credit application information to determine risk for bankruptcy or non-payment by applying knowledge of standard underwriting procedures and risk analysis.
- Approving, denying, or referring the loan for further review.
- Structuring credit application, when applicable, to ensure the payment amount, loan amount, term, and other items yield the best result for the member.
- Detailing stipulations of loan approval or counter and information that supports the loan decision or referral of the loan application to someone with higher underwriting guidelines.
- Maintaining an appropriate level of profitability, delinquency, charge-off, and repossessions in line with CCU goals.
- Suggesting process improvements when applicable.
Some Saturday hours required. Potential for remote work.
