What are the responsibilities and job description for the Low Voltage Technician position at Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest?
Position Summary:
Low voltage technicians install electrical systems such as fire alarms, security systems, surveillance equipment, and audiovisual or multimedia equipment.
Primary Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform comprehensive, onsite equipment installation for our clients including but not limited to low voltage wiring, trim-out, equipment rack build and integration
- Diagnostic maintenance of systems and equipment according to contract and customer needs
- Identify active voice or data circuits
- Install, pull, terminate, repair and replace low voltage cables
- Exemplify, promote and foster our purpose of Committed to Excellence through our Core Values of Customers, Employees, Character and Mastery
- All other duties as assigned and required
Required Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of electrical construction
- Must be able to read blueprints to determine how to best install the components and wiring
- Advanced PC skills, specifically Microsoft Windows Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)
- Functional understanding of Low Voltage systems
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and hard working
- Effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all organizational levels
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalency
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in telecommunications or related technical field
