Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with patients to provide support and care in a therapeutic environment. Your primary focus will be on assisting individuals with mental health challenges, facilitating group therapy sessions, and implementing treatment plans under the guidance of licensed professionals. Responsibilities
- Assist in the assessment and monitoring of patients' mental health status.
- Implement treatment plans as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions to encourage patient interaction and support.
- Provide crisis intervention when necessary to ensure patient safety.
- Engage in direct support activities, including counseling and therapeutic exercises.
- Participate in psychopharmacology management by observing medication adherence and reporting any concerns.
- Conduct patient assessments to evaluate progress and adjust care strategies as needed.
- Support patients in developing coping strategies for chronic pain and other challenges.
- Collaborate with social workers and other healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive care.
Requirements
- A background in social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience or training in crisis intervention techniques is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities, including dance therapy and psychotherapy, is a plus.
- Ability to conduct patient assessments effectively and compassionately.
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, and team members.
- Willingness to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Previous experience in outpatient settings or direct support roles is advantageous.
