Facility Maintenance Worker II

Description

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Career & Technical Education, Rockcastle County Area Technology Center in Mount Vernon, Kentucky has an opening for a Maintenance Worker II. This position is essential to operations, as it handles the cleaning, sanitization, and maintenance of our area of the center.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Carry out janitorial duties to maintain the building, including but not limited to classrooms, offices, restrooms, and other adjacent areas.
• Perform maintenance duties throughout the center.
• Make carpentry repairs to the building and equipment.
• Paint surfaces and operate machinery and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: NONE

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services, or mechanical maintenance experience.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age.

Working Conditions

Incumbents in this job title may be exposed to extreme temperatures which requires the following of safety procedures. Must follow safety procedures, such as utilization of eye and ear protection, when utilizing certain mechanical equipment.
