The Division of Prevention and Quality Improvement, Chronic Disease Prevention Branch seeks a detail-oriented, highly motivated and dynamic individual to lead statewide efforts to support, strengthen and promote the sustainability of the Community Health Worker profession through the Kentucky Office of Community Health Workers. The Health Program Administrator should be a skilled communicator, project manager, and effective leader. This position ensures that all work aligns with state statute, regulation and policy, as well as internal strategic priorities. The Health Program Administrator leads initiatives and work groups across the state and should possess a strong knowledge related to the Community Health Worker profession.
Responsibilities And Duties
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of professional experience in a health care facility, a community-based health care program, an institutional health care program, any health program administration, pharmacy technician, social work, public health, population health, emergency management services, emergency medical technician, paramedic, or related field.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree in public health, or a health-related field (such as human services, psychology, nursing, health administration, substance abuse, special education, rehabilitation, social work, sociology, or related field) will substitute for two years of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional professional experience in a health care facility, a community-based health care program, an institutional health care program, any health program administration, pharmacy technician, social work, public health, population health, emergency management services, emergency medical technician, paramedic, or related field will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities And Duties
- Oversees all aspects of the Kentucky Office of Community Health Workers including certification, continuing education, training organization approval, data collection and analysis, resource and best practice development, and cross- sector collaboration.
- Coordinates inter and intra departmental workgroups, committees and special projects related to the advancement of the Community Health Worker profession.
- Manages the Kentucky Office of Community Health Workers staff, including supervision and monitoring of program status through reports, staff meetings, and onsite visits.
- Represents the Kentucky Office of Community Health Workers in both internal and external meetings and provide expertise and formal presentations.
- Reviews relative state and federal policy and may be asked to evaluate the impact of policy on the Community Health Worker profession.
- Provides training and technical assistance to Community Health Workers, Community Health Worker supervisors, internal, and external partners related to Community Health Worker certification, training, curriculum, data, policies and best practices.
- Monitors Kentucky Office of Community Health Workers projects and activities status and success and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepares reports by special request and interprets and enforces rules and policies.
- Community Health Worker experience preferred.
- Experience with federal grants and Community Health Worker certification process.
- Be an effective communicator both orally and in writing.
- Possess the ability to work independently while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and related programs.
