With a 168-year history in the Hopkinsville community WSH is a State acute care, adult psychiatric facility, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. WSH provides in-patient psychiatric evaluation and treatment for adults from 34 counties of Western Kentucky who have severe mental illness. Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following

• Prepares, administers and charts medication.
• Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Performs medical treatments as instructed by physician.
• Accepts and accounts for drugs and related paraphernalia.
• Explains medication purposes, dosages and possible side effects to individuals.
• Performs simple maintenance on medical treatment equipment.
• Participates in nursing care conferences and treatment team meetings.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
