The Department for Medicaid Services (DMS) provides health care access for eligible low-income residents of Kentucky including children, families, pregnant women, the aged and the disabled as well as a number of programs and services directed at specific eligibility and medical needs. This Nurse/Consultant/Inspector position serves in the Department for Medicaid Services (DMS), Division of Long-Term Services and Supports, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and Acquired Brain Injury Long Term Care (ABI LTC) Medicaid Waiver programs. The ABI Medicaid waiver programs provide a community- based alternative to institutional care for persons with brain injuries. The two ABI waivers provide intensive services and supports to adults working to re-enter community life. The Acquired Brain Injury Branch (ABIB) staff exemplify a true team approach bringing their unique skill sets together to improve quality of life outcomes for waiver participants. Each team member is valued and encouraged to share experiences, ideas, and skills for continued internal quality improvement.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have four years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A bachelor's degree in nursing will substitute for the required experience.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following
- Review applications and medical support documentation for waiver participation.
- Review provider agency policies and procedures related to Medication Administration.
- Conduct pre-service and recertification inspections of service delivery sites for regulatory compliance.
- Perform data entry into ABI specific databases to document and trend service delivery.
- Review and research critical incident reports.
- Conduct investigations as warranted.
- Perform research and tasks in the Medicaid Waiver Management Application (MWMA) system.
- Perform research and tasks in the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS).
- Perform quality assurance reviews of vendor agencies as part of program compliance reviews.
- Perform data entry into ABI specific databses to document and trend service delivery.
- Provide technical assistance in response to call center and helpdesk inquiries.
- Research issues related to the Center for Medicaid Services (CMS), Cabinet for Health and Family Service (CHFS) and the Department for Medicaid Service (DMS).
- Licensed in the Commonwealth of KY as a registered nurse.
- Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credential for the length of employment in this position.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Perform duties and tasks within the Medicaid Waiver Management Application (MWMA).
- Perform research and tasks in the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS).
