This is a highly responsible position in the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet. The employee is expected to perform all duties to the best of their ability, act in a responsible manner at all times, demonstrate leadership qualities, and treat all staff, youth, and persons with respect. Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional experience in management or administration.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Administrative or business experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Minimal travel may be required.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following
- Coordinates activities within the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) facilities in the implementation and administration of the American Correctional Association (ACA) and the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) accreditation process.
- Collaborates with program participants on planning, implementing, and monitoring of provision of each program services.
- Coordinates the ACA accreditation process.
- Responsible for providing the required documentation for 422 ACA standards, of which 31 are mandatory to maintain accreditation.
- Oversees/plans/coordinates & reviews work of staff involved in the accreditation process.
- Monitors facility programs ensuring facility/DJJ policies & procedures are within ACA compliance & recommend/make changes as necessary.
- Responsible for the coordination and readiness for other audits within the facility to include the PREA.
- Monitors/facilitates compliance with 185 standards, 43 of which are mandatory.
- Oversees facility programs to ensure they are meeting standards and recommend and make changes as necessary.
