To help the state maintain its competitive edge, the department offers comprehensive services which assure that our clientele has access to information resources: virtual, physical, and human. As one of 10 state agencies in the country to combine library, archival, and public records programs, the department is uniquely positioned to meet these needs.
We are seeking to fill a Property Officer I position within the Department for Libraries and Archives. The preferred candidate will need to demonstrate excellent analytical and customer service skills. They will also need to demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, analyze problems, communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing and work cooperatively with a team.

We are seeking to fill a Property Officer I position within the Department for Libraries and Archives. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assists with inventory management in receiving, checking, storing, picking up, and accounting for records.
- Picks up and receives boxes of records from state agencies, checks boxes for correct labels, matches boxes to transmittal.
- Checks pickups and deliveries for accuracy against transmittal.
- Retrieves individual records to ship to state agencies, local government offices, and courts. Copies and transmits as appropriate and according to customers' requests.
- Re-files and inter-files records in the correct box when returned by the requesting agency.
- Pulls boxes of records scheduled for destruction.
- Coordinates for disposal of records according to established policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
