The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC), Division of Adult Institutions operates 13 correctional facilities that house Kentucky's adult inmate population. The mission of DOC is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior.
The Property Officer II at the Blackburn Correctional Complex is responsible for performing duties in the inventory, control and sales of property for the institution.
Responsibilities May Include
EDUCATION: High School Graduate
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of experience in the inventory, control, sales or disposal, or acquisition of property, or a related field.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE

Responsibilities May Include
- Accounts for property by physical inspection, tagging, or marking and data processing control.
- Maintains an inventory of property location, value, transfer, sale or disposal.
- Maintains surplus property in include providing acquisitions and disposal and relocating items for storage as needed.
- Returns and tracks property that is defective upon arrival for repair or replacement.
- Measures staff for uniforms and submits purchase request for uniform order.
- Destroys unserviceable items appropriately.
- Cleans and stores inmate uniforms.
- Updates employee database as changes occur.
- Assists warehouse supervisor as needed.
