The Department of Pretrial Services has an immediate need for a Regional Supervisor that will serve Letcher, Pike, Floyd, Knott, Perry, Magoffin, Johnson, Lawrence and Martin Counties.
The Department of Pretrial Services oversees a statewide program based on the premise that defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty and are entitled to reasonable bail. This premise is supported by federal and state constitutions.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: 2 years of job related experience
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Associates Degree w/4 years job related experience or High School Degree w/6 years job related experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be able to pass FBI clearance to obtain NCIC certification. Must have 4 years departmental experience and 1 year supervisory and training experience. Must maintain NCIC certification.
Working Conditions
Some work is done within detention centers. Work is primarily performed within an office setting. Travel required.

- Oversees the supervision and implementation of all staff and programs.
- Authorizes overtime and leave and evaluates the performance of subordinates.
- Recommends policy and procedural changes to increase operating efficiently.
- Requests subordinates to research and compile administrative reports as needed.
- Compiles reports as needed and oversees the maintenance of all programs.
- Investigates and takes appropriate measures consistent with laws, regulations, policies and procedures regarding complaints or disciplinary issues.
- Conducts and prepare reports on field visits.
- Conducts programmatic audits.
- Serves on inter or intra agency task forces or committees as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
