By joining our New Castle Section as a Transportation Engineering Assistant II, in Henry County, you’ll have the opportunity to be perform inspections, record keeping, and prepare reports relating to larger more complex construction projects.
Summary Of Responsibilities
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have two years of engineering-related experience, maintenance, construction, or experience on a structures crew.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Related technical or vocational training will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess a valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification. https://drive.ky.gov/Pages/default.aspx. Working Conditions

Summary Of Responsibilities
- Learn to operate complex surveying equipment.
- Establishes centerlines, takes cross-sections and determines elevations.
- Meets with property owners to obtain information or permission to survey.
- Oversees basic quality assurance.
- Reads and interprets engineering documents and specifications for construction.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have 2 years of engineering-related experience, maintenance, construction or experience on a structures crew.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
