THE POSITION
Are you interested in supervising staff as they plan and coordinate social services for the older residents of the community? If so, consider joining Luzerne County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) as an Aging Care Management Supervisor 2. In addition to supervising staff, you will be handling administrative tasks related to caregiver support, domiciliary care, as well as the cost sharing and consumer reimbursement program. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Administration of the caregiver support, consumer reimbursement, and domiciliary care programs includes:
- Maintaining ongoing materials and a community resource guide for caregivers
- Maintaining ongoing assessments and reassessments of caregivers needs
- Monitoring system of caregiver reimbursement in the caregiver program and consumer reimbursement program
- Overseeing the system of provider certification and care management of consumers in the domiciliary care program
Serving as a liaison with providers of the representative payee, guardianship, and other financial services transition services includes:
- Arranging for evaluations of individuals where guardianship is being requested
- Arranging for guardianship petitions to be filed when appropriate
- Monitoring ongoing guardianship services provided by contractor for services
- Monitoring of representative payee services
- Arranging for legal services for the handling of small estates
Additional responsibilities include:
- Assigning cases to staff
- Reviewing initial assessments and approving services
- Handling training needs
- Completing necessary reports
- Evaluating staff performance
- Making supervisory field visits
- Explaining aging care services to the community
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
- Four years of experience in public or private social work; and a Bachelor's Degree; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training including successful completion of 12 semester hours of college level courses in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Schuylkill, Sullivan, or Wyoming counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
