This position is responsible for coordinating community adult and transition age mental health programs throughout Washington County. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Mental Health Program Specialist (MHPS1), you will be performing professional work of an administrative nature involving the program planning, administration, analysis, evaluation, monitoring, and coordination of community adult mental health programs. You will have the opportunity to specialize in the area of monitoring and coordinating implementation of services, functioning as the direct assistant to the Mental Health Program Director. Work includes data collection, quality assurance, and acting as a liaison with consumers, families, and providers of peer supports, rehabilitative services, as well as housing and residential programs as well as many other services. Services may include Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team, case management, supported employment, evidenced based practices, and other treatment services. Additional responsibilities include:
  • Monitoring compliance of service providers
  • Providing oversight of services
  • Monitoring state hospital discharges
  • Attending and assisting with trainings and outreach opportunities in the community
  • Monitoring the Consumer Family Satisfaction Team

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years of professional level experience in the field of mental health; and a bachelor's degree;or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
