THE POSITION

The Department of General Services (DGS) is excited to welcome a motivated Facility Services Manager 1 to perform a variety of administrative and supervisory functions surrounding the management of in-house staff, vendors, and contractors involved in custodial services, renovations, repairs, maintenance, and day-to-day operations of the Labor & Industry Building and the Commonwealth Garage. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This professional is tasked with prioritizing work to be accomplished, supplying proper checklists, and providing necessary instructions to ensure balance and constant workload. You will also perform routine daily building inspections to ensure custodial, environmental control, and maintenance standards are achieved and that all deficiencies are cited. Within this role, you will be expected to be on-call and respond to maintenance and repair requirements at any time.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- This position is deemed essential, meaning you may be required to report to work during emergencies and office closings.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
- Two years as a Facility Services Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of routine maintenance work experience which includes two years of supervisory experience overseeing trades or building maintenance employees in a commercial, industrial, or multi-unit residential facility; or
- An associate’s degree in commercial property management, commercial real estate, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, HVAC, electrical technology, electronics, building automation, construction, or a related field; and two years of supervisory experience overseeing trades or building maintenance employees in a commercial, industrial, or multi-unit residential facility; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes two years of supervisory experience overseeing trades or building maintenance employees in a commercial, industrial, or multi-unit residential facility.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
