DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position requires a significant amount of travel as you will be conducting on-site inspections of clinical laboratories throughout the Commonwealth. These evaluations will cover all areas of the laboratory, including records, personnel qualifications, instrumentation, quality assurance, and laboratory management practices. The goal of these inspections is to ensure that these laboratories are in compliance with state and federal regulations. Other duties include serving as a team leader, which involves directing the activities of a team when the size of the facility requires a team approach to ensure a thorough inspection is conducted. In addition, you will participate in planning and conducting formal workshops, seminars, in-service programs, and conferences pertaining to the state and federal clinical laboratory regulations to provide laboratories with up-to-date information for compliance.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: Telework is based on operational needs. This position requires frequent travel throughout the Commonwealth to conduct on-site inspections of clinical laboratories. You will have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time when performing pre- and post-inspection duties following successful completion of a one-year training period. Your supervisor will work with you on a telework agreement and expectations. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Exton.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
- Two years of professional laboratory work experience in a clinical laboratory, and bachelor’s degree in a chemical science, biological science, or medical technology; or
- One year of professional laboratory work experience in a clinical laboratory, and a master’s degree in a chemical science, biological science, or medical technology.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires applicants to possess a valid driver's license AND two years of human specimen testing experience in a CLIA certified laboratory.
