DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Motor Carrier Enforcement Supervisor, you will have a variety of responsibilities. Your work will include performing technical work, inspecting motor carrier vehicles and operators, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This role involves supervising the New Entrant Safety Audit Unit, which plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of carrier operations. Additionally, you will be responsible for assigning new safety audits to auditors and ensuring that they comply with the guidelines set by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. You will also oversee the work of Motor Carrier Enforcement Officers. You will assign tasks, set expectations, monitor work, provide feedback, and complete performance evaluations. Your duties will be vital in maintaining the integrity of the transportation industry and protecting the well-being of both carriers and the public.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours: Rotating shifts, including weekends
- Telework: This position does not offer telework.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
- Two years of experience as a Motor Carrier Enforcement Officer; or
- Three years of experience inspecting motor carrier vehicles and operators for compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations; and a high school diploma or equivalency.
Special Requirement:
- You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C motor vehicle operator's license.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be in possession or attainment of Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job.
- You must be in possession or attainment of basic Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) Certification during probationary period and maintenance of certification for tenure in this job.
- You must be in possession or attainment of General Hazardous Materials Inspection Certification during probationary period and maintenance of certification for tenure in this job.
- You must obtain MCSAP New Entrant Safety Auditor Certification during the probationary period and maintain certification for tenure in this job.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
