DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Psychological Services Specialist, you will be responsible for providing a variety of direct psychological services, consultative services, and treatment team services to inpatient mental health patients who are receiving treatment at Warren State Hospital. Primary areas of focus include providing individual psychological treatment services; conducting psychoeducational groups to equip patients with the skills necessary to work through the recovery process; and conducting assessment procedures which involve testing of intelligence, cognitive capabilities, personality features, neuropsychological deficits, functional levels, and psycho-pathological conditions. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be operating as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team member, as well as consulting with families and community representatives.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Schedule may change based upon operational needs.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
- A master’s degree in a behavioral science, counseling education, rehabilitation, human development or a closely related field.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
