DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will direct the daily operations of the Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) in South-Central Pennsylvania, including Adams, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, and York Counties, as well as the city of Harrisburg.
In this role, you will, direct, manage, and coordinate all of the departments' transportation planning, programming, and project implementation programs for the assigned MPOs. This includes supervising the work of the staff to ensure all programs satisfy federal and state regulations, requirements and policies. You will provide guidance and assistance to the department's District 8 staff on policy and funding aspects of the planning and programming process; work with staff and governmental officials to reach decisions on all programs and other issues impacting transportation program development and implementation; and prepare reports and letters of correspondence for the department Secretary and directors, as well as interested federal parties. Additionally, you will review funding requests and make decisions based on project priorities, and manage the funding, progress, and payment of these activities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- This position may be eligible for alternate work schedule (AWS).
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Transportation Planning Specialist Supervisor; or
- One year of experience as a Transportation Planning Specialist 2; or
- Three years of professional transportation planning, transportation administration, or transportation engineering experience, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, statistics, planning, computer science, or geography; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
