DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Van Driver with Wayne County AAA, you will enhance the mobility of our members by providing professional and accessible transportation in a safe, reliable, comfortable, and courteous manner. This position requires scheduling flexibility and the ability to work independently and operate a county vehicle an average of 150 miles each day. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide transportation services as well as social contact for our consumers, including senior adults and wheelchair-dependent individuals. Excellent communication skills are imperative, both in-person and via two-way radio. Our ideal candidate should exhibit a willingness and patience to assist senior adults and wheelchair-dependent consumers along rough pavement or unpaved paths. We are looking for someone who is friendly and compassionate, as you will be providing vital assistance and socialization throughout the day.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Part-time employment, averaging 14-21 hours per week.
- Work hours vary between 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday - Friday with limited hours on Saturday.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of employment which required operation of a motor vehicle as a regular duty; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- You must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
Conditions of Employment:
- No suspension of driver’s license within the last three years.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Lackawanna, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, or Wayne counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.

This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
