Applications Developer 2

As an Applications Developer 2, you will assist with a wide range of accessibility compliance functions ranging from applications developed for internal use, to large, highly complex, multi-agency business applications that currently support multiple business or program areas, as well as impact multiple stakeholder groups.  It is essential for this professional to maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of web and document accessibility for purposes of assisting with providing technical assistance, support, and content/application evaluations to the EBR DC web and application developers; completing periodic reviews or audits of EBR DC applications and websites to ensure compliance with established web accessibility guidelines; and reviewing or evaluating accessibility audit reports first submitted to OA/OIT from agencies throughout the enterprise.  You will also have the opportunity to provide technical assistance to EBR DC program areas regarding accessible document remediation and accessible web design and job accommodation involving the utilization of adaptive computer technology by persons with disabilities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as an Applications Developer 1 or Computer Programmer 3 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Two years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field; or
• Four years of information technology experience that includes two years of experience in applications development or applications maintenance; or
• A bachelor's degree in any information technology field.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
