THE POSITION

Do you want to help ensure that workers' compensation claims are properly processed? Join our Workers' Compensation Office of Adjudication (WCOA) District Office as a Clerical Assistant 3. Assist our department's judges and help eligible workers receive the benefits they need with our team!



DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will perform secretarial and clerical duties to support the Workers' Compensation Judges and WCOA District Office in either Malvern or Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This includes scheduling hearings, mediations, and conferences; reviewing and validating documentation; and preparing court rooms for both in person and virtual hearings. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential as this position replies to telephone and email inquiries containing general questions from the public, attorneys, media, law enforcement, and legislators in accordance with WCOA policies and procedures.

You will also be expected to type and generate correspondence, memorandum, invitations, and reports from handwritten or dictated sources in an established format. Other duties include maintaining and organizing files; inputting, retrieving, and reviewing computer data; and proofreading a variety of documents. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Selected candidate will have the option to work from either the Malvern or Lancaster office.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time after a training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Malvern or Lancaster.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
