Corrections Food Service Instructor- SCI Camp Hill

As the Corrections Food Service Instructor, you will lead inmates through on-the job vocational training providing instruction in food preparation, production, service, and baking. You will provide direction on safe and sanitary operation of tools and equipment, cleaning, maintenance, and storage practices. Your responsibilities include inspecting food service areas, equipment and food to ensure conformance with established safety and sanitation standards. You will have the opportunity to plan and review inmate work assignments, conduct performance evaluations of inmate workers, and maintain all inmate worker records. It will be essential to maintain care, custody, and control over inmates during work assignments.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week.
• Work hours: 1100-1900 Rotating Days Off or Swing Shift- 0430-1230-1100-1900 Rotating Days Off. Work hours to be determined.
• Work Week - This is shift work with rotating days off. Shifts are awarded based on bidding and seniority. 
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,986.00.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

• You must successfully complete the required basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions. 

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
