Corrections General Industries Factory Foreperson - SCI Frackville

In this position, you will be responsible for instructing, training, and supervising inmates in the techniques, processes, and procedures of the industry. This includes providing demonstrations, offering clear explanations, and maintaining close oversight during training and work assignments. You will plan, assign, review, and evaluate the work of assigned inmates, ensuring that performance meets established standards. Additionally, you will maintain training progress reports, wage records, and attendance logs for inmates while ensuring quality and efficiency in production through regular inspection of equipment, raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. You will also oversee the maintenance and repair of factory equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $50,846.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Three years of experience in the production of goods or services; or
• An associate degree in industrial technology, operations management, business administration, or a related field; and one year of work experience in the production of goods or services; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of work experience in the production of goods or services. 

Other Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
