As a Corrections Utility Plant Operator, you will be responsible for overseeing an inmate work crew in the performance of tasks related to the operation, maintenance, and repair of our boiler plant at the facility. Work involves ensuring efficient operation of natural gas and oil boilers under normal and emergency conditions, using both manual and automatic control systems. You will be interpreting visual and aural gauges, meters, and sensing devices, performing routine and non-routine maintenance, and conducting operational assessments. Additional duties include cleaning and maintaining equipment, completing minor repairs to ensure proper functionality, as well as operating and maintaining auxiliary equipment. Your job is critical in maintaining both the safety of the facility and the efficiency of its utility operations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, rotating shifts and days off.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
