DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Director of Public and Legislative Affairs you will become an essential member of the Pennsylvania's State Board of Higher Education (SBHE) senior team, where you will work closely with the executive director and SBHE. You will have the opportunity to serve as the principle spokesperson for the board, performing highly responsible, professional duties leading the communications and legislative affair functions of the SBE. Under the direction of the executive director, you will be developing and executing a strategic communication and public relations plan that highlights the work of the State Board of Higher Education as well as contributions of higher education to the Commonwealth to a broad range of stakeholders. Work involves establishing and maintaining a strong, constructive relationship with members of the General Assembly, the administration of the Governor, and other key stakeholders to promote the value and the work of the State Board of Higher Education. Additionally, you will be collaborating with the agency directors for legislative affairs, policy, and communications to remain in alignment with PDE and the Governor's Office goals.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework : You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
