DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will be tasked with the enforcement of all aspects of the Dog Law and relevant statutes within Mifflin and Juniata Counties. This includes upholding the State Dog Law and the Rabies Law, inspecting dogs to verify compliance with licensing requirements, and addressing complaints about dogs running at large by apprehending and transporting them. You will also investigate dog bite incidents, imposing quarantines on affected dogs to safeguard public health. Additionally, you will assess claims for damages to livestock or poultry caused by dogs, preparing reports for compensation. Investigations into suspected illegal transportation or euthanasia of dogs, as well as issues related to out-of-state dealers, will also fall under your purview. You will handle public complaints regarding illegal kennels, violations of the State Dog Law, and inhumane conditions, conducting thorough investigations and generating reports for review by your supervisor, who may offer guidance on responding to the complainants.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position will be home headquartered if applicant lives in Mifflin or Juniata County. If applicant does not live in Mifflin or Juniata County, the assigned state vehicle must be parked in one of these counties and the work day will start at 8 : 00 AM at the location of the assigned state vehicle
