THE POSITION
The Department of Transportation is actively looking to hire an Environmental Planner 1. This role involves engaging in every stage of the environmental permitting process, which is crucial for ensuring that projects can commence and advance as scheduled. The Environmental Planner will also be responsible for ensuring that all design, construction, and maintenance operations adhere to the relevant environmental laws, regulations, and standards at the state, federal, and local levels.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will support the evaluation of permitting documents and offer suggestions to the unit supervisor. You will also propose necessary corrections or repairs to the unit supervisor for further action. Additionally, you will aid in assessing repair plans related to stormwater management and erosion and sediment control measures for PennDOT's maintenance and construction units. Your work will be monitored by the supervisor throughout the process to ensure the overall effectiveness of the program.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework : You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City.
