DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The individual occupying this role is responsible for a diverse range of tasks within the Northwest District Oil and Gas Program under the Department of Environmental Protection. This position demands a high level of technical knowledge, self-motivation, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with colleagues from the District, personnel from the Central Office, municipal representatives, federal authorities, and stakeholders in the oil and gas sector.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Knox.
• Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience as a journey-level specialist in a waste management program; or
• Two years of experience in environmental protection and a bachelor's degree with major course work in biology, chemistry, or in a field closely related to environmental protection. A master's degree with major course work in any of the fields closely related to environmental protection may be substituted for one year of the required experience ; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which affords the applicant the required knowledges and abilities.
  
  

Special Requirements:

• This position requires possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
