As a Fiscal Technician, you will be responsible for performing accounting functions for the agency, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and county policies and procedures. Work involves reviewing, posting, and coding all invoices and billing received, as well as posting entries to proper ledgers. Maintaining accurate information and record-keeping is vital. You will have the opportunity to monitor cost analysis expenditures and budgetary information and records of services procured through the department. Within this role, you will also be responsible for preparing quarterly and year-end fiscal reports as well as verifying the accuracy and completeness of all financial documents for compliance. Establishing working relationships with the County Auditor and General Auditor is critical as you will be acting as a liaison to reconcile agency and county records. Lastly, you will be responsible for maintaining the petty cash fund for the agency; preparing monthly reports for the Advisory Committee regarding the agency activities; and meeting with local and state agencies in order to implement changes as necessary.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Fiscal Assistant or three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or 
  • One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or 
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
