Fiscal Technician (Local Government) - Washington County MHID

As a Fiscal Technician, you will be tasked with reviewing and processing a variety of financial documents, involving communicating and meeting with providers to assess allocation requirements and providing technical assistance. You will be responsible for maintaining spreadsheets to monitor spending and for preparation of financial reports as well as compiling data to support state and federal requirements. Within this role, you will utilize your problem solving skills as you work independently within a framework of prescribed accounting procedures and regulations. Additional responsibilities include:

• Reviewing invoices
• Monitoring fiscal and accounting operations of BHDS provider agencies
• Reviewing and monitoring audits
• Analyzing forms and reports for accuracy and ensuring compliance
• Preparing the fiscal year annual income and expenditure report
• Maintaining time studies for proper allocation of expenses
• Maintaining records for the BHDS contract process

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as a Fiscal Assistant or three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or
• One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• You must pass a background investigation.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
