Food Service Supervisor - Wernersville State Hospital

In this position, you will oversee all aspects of dietary services, ensuring that meals are prepared and delivered promptly and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for assigning tasks, coordinating activities, and conducting comprehensive inspections and evaluations of both food service and production areas through daily on-site assessments. Additionally, you will lead the training and supervision of staff and manage personnel records, including schedules, attendance, and performance reviews. Your responsibilities will also include requisitioning, receiving, and inspecting food supplies and equipment, as well as preparing and maintaining required records and reports.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Sunday - Saturday, with two 15-minute breaks.
• Rotating schedule, work weekends and holidays as assigned.
• Overtime: As needed
• May change based on operational needs.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Three years of paid experience in food production and/or service and successful completion of a Certified Dietary Manager course; or
  
• Two years as a Food Service Worker and/or production experience, and an Associate degree with major course work in food production and food service; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which consists of experience in an institutional setting preparing specialized therapeutic diets, or course work in food production, food service or a related field.

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
