THE POSITION
Are you passionate about our local forests and enjoy working outdoors? Become a vital member of the Pennsylvania Game Commission, Northcentral Region. In the role of Forest Technician, you will provide technical support and assistance with the day-to-day activities on State Game Lands. Join the Elk County Regional Forestry staff and help us to ensure thriving Pennsylvania forests for future generations.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Forest Technician, your primary focus will be forest habitat management activities promoting young forest conditions. This includes examining trees, marking timber, and assisting foresters in the collection and recording of field data. This position surveys and marks the boundaries of timber sale, herbicide areas, and other forest habitat treatments. You will have the opportunity to collect and compile GPS data for management activities and produce appropriate maps for use by forester, conduct State Game Lands stand examinations, conduct surveys, and a ssist with other Bureau of Wildlife Habitat, Forestry Division and Pennsylvania Game Commission programs as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Salary : In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
