DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Health Care Access Administration and Appeals Intern, you will p articipate in on-the-job training assignments to learn about the various functions of the Insurance Department regarding network adequacy, plan administration, and appeals with specific focus on health insurance companies. You will also learn about the application of regulatory standards and procedures as well as Pennsylvania insurance laws related to the analysis of insurer networks, provider contracts, and reporting. This professional performs data research using the templates and documents submitted by companies, including the retrieval and aggregation of data, and performs data analysis while notating any trends or anomalies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :
- Potential part-time or full-time internship, 25 to 37.5 hours per week.
- This internship runs from May through August 2025.
- Work schedule will be flexible within the hours of 7 : 30 AM to 4 : 30 PM, Monday - Friday, and in alignment with the supervisor / work unit.
- Parking is provided by the agency.
- Telework : You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Salary : In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
