What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant (Accountant 3) position at Commonwealth of Pennsylvania?
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for the analysis and transactions related to the CMS-64 in the Medical Assistance unit within the General Accounting Division of the Bureau of Accounting and Financial Management. This position supervises one Executive Financial Associate position. The Senior Accountant serves as the unit manager's delegate for leading projects, facilitating presentations, refining internal processes, and establishing procedures. In this role, you will have the opportunity to routinely interact with the various local, state, and federal entities involved in the work of the unit.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Training and developing Executive Financial Associate
- Mentoring other team members
- Monitoring compliance with rules and regulations for all assigned federal grants
- Collaborating with agencies and business partners to assess initiatives and provide guidance to department and agency personnel

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements. Please keep in mind that while this is a full-time telework position, that can change at any time at the Governor's discretion. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- You will be required to report to headquarters to pick up your equipment and attend periodic meetings at your expense.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Accountant 2; or
- Three years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
- Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
