DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Special Investigator, you will be responsible for conducting detailed investigations of financial conflicts of interests and other violations of the Restricted Activities provisions. These investigations are conducted of public officials and public employees at the local, county, and state level, and the investigations may result in administrative prosecutions and penalties. Work includes r eviewing and analytically examining financial records, legal documents, contracts, bank statements, governmental meeting minutes, and other public records; reviewing social media and other sources; interviewing witnesses; preparing detailed investigative reports; testifying at hearings; and performing other tasks related to the investigation and administrative prosecution of a violation of the Ethics Act. While this position is posted as a Special Investigator 2, we may fill the position as a Special Investigator 3 depending upon the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
Work Schedule and Additional Information :
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Intrastate travel required, including occasional overnight stay.
- Telework : You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
