DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will undertake various technical responsibilities related to the inspection of bridges and other structures, adhering to the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS). Conducting safety inspections on existing bridges is crucial, which includes evaluating structural elements, foundations, supports, and other components. You will inspect all structural parts, such as concrete footings, abutments, wing walls, bearings, back walls, steel beams, girders, truss members, pre-stressed concrete beams, timber constructions, bridge decks, wearing surfaces, expansion devices, approach slabs, relief joints, piers, bents, rivets, bolts, welds, and safety features, including safety parapets, guide rails, approach roadway alignment, deck geometry, vertical clearances, and bridge signage. Additionally, you will assess bridges for issues like accident damage, water scouring of footings, wear or corrosion on pins, eyebars, and other steel components, while also measuring bridge members, documenting deterioration, and rating the condition of bridge components.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework : You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, adhoc during the winter season.. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City.
