This role requires a keen attention to detail, as you will oversee all phases of transportation construction from inception to completion. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with contractors and surveyors to verify grades, elevations, and the layout of structures and roadways. You will also be tasked with documenting the process through photographs, preparing sketches, and drafting inspection review summaries. Additionally, you will evaluate and document the work performed by contractors, contributing as a member of the inspection team. Generating reports for project records and analyzing results to monitor progress and adherence to schedules will be essential. You will track material quantities and conduct testing using both manual and computerized methods, while also creating sketches, noting changes in field plans, and maintaining comprehensive inspection progress and quality control reports. It is crucial to ensure that all projects comply with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures, while being executed efficiently and cost-effectively.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- You will work closely with vendors and work hours may change based on vendor availability.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Engineering Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years as a Transportation Technician or Construction Cost Technician 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; or
- Three years of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; or
- One year of construction inspection experience, and an associate’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver’s License or equivalent.
