DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will interact with property owners, developers, contractors, and local officials to clarify occupancy permit requirements and legal limitations, while also helping to resolve issues related to both proposed and existing projects. You will conduct inspections at all stages of Highway Occupancy Permit work and oversee construction inspections in the County Highway Occupancy Permit Office, ensuring adherence to departmental regulations and procedures for reviewing and issuing permits.
Your responsibilities include explaining compliance with departmental regulations, policies, and construction standards to customers. You will interpret plans and specifications submitted by applicants and their design teams for various highway projects. It is crucial to identify situations that require input from other engineering or legal staff and to work effectively in a field construction setting. Additionally, you will research existing plans to verify legal right-of-way widths and should have a strong understanding of the department's roadway identification system. You will independently manage and organize your tasks to meet deadlines set by laws and policies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position may require limited travel to 2140 Herr Street, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, 17103
- You will work closely with vendor s and work hours may change based on vendor availability.
- Salary : Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,890.00 (before taxes).
